Your data, plainly.
Effective September 24, 2026
Nightings has no account, no ads and no employer dashboard. Your shifts and sleep log stay on your iPhone unless you choose to send them somewhere.
What stays on your iPhone
Your profile, shifts, sleep log, check-ins, lesson notes, progress, favorites and settings are stored on your iPhone. We don’t get a copy. There’s no account sync and no advertising tracker.
Nightings keeps a recovery copy of your own notes, progress, shifts and the sleep you log by hand, in case the app’s main file can’t be read. It can be included in your iPhone backup. After a restore, a separate local copy lets you undo it; that copy stays out of iPhone backups. Records read from Apple Health are kept separately and left out of iPhone backups.
Apple Health
Health sync is off until you turn it on. Import reads sleep from Health. Export writes the times of sleep entries you create in Nightings, without notes or ratings. Health data is never sent to our server or to any AI service. Turning sync off keeps copies that are already in Health. You can manage or delete them in the Health app.
Reading your schedule
The standard schedule reader uses Apple’s on-device text recognition. The image never leaves your iPhone.
Optional cloud reading is for hard-to-read schedules. It only runs after you approve it, every time. When you approve, the image or text you chose (for a PDF, the text read on your iPhone), the month and year, your time zone and the name to look for pass through the Nightings server to Replicate, which runs a Google Gemini model to read it. Crop out other people and patient details first. Your sleep log, Health data and lesson notes are never sent.
Our server doesn’t save the schedule, the image or the result. Replicate and Google handle the request under their own policies: Replicate data retention and Google privacy policy. Every shift the AI suggests starts unchecked, and you confirm each one before it’s saved.
What our server receives
Our server runs on Vercel. It’s used only for cloud schedule reading and for checking how many cloud reads you have left.
- Apple-signed app and purchase information. When you check your cloud allowance or send a schedule, the app sends Apple’s signed proof of your app install and of any Pro subscription. The server checks it with Apple. This information isn’t sent to the AI providers, and the server doesn’t store it.
- Usage counts. The server counts cloud reads for the current month. Each count is stored against a hashed customer identifier. It also keeps hashed request identifiers to stop repeats and, for free reading, a hashed network address to limit abuse. The server doesn’t store your raw Apple identifiers, your network address or anything from your schedule.
Usage counts start fresh each calendar month (UTC), and last month’s counts aren’t kept. Reinstalling Nightings or deleting its data doesn’t reset the monthly allowance. Vercel may keep standard request logs for a short time under its privacy policy.
Purchases, reminders and Apple services
Apple handles payments and diagnostics under its own policies. We never see your card details. If you turn on reminders, iOS schedules them on your iPhone. You can turn them off in Profile or in iPhone Settings.
Sharing you choose
Export and “Export for a doctor” create a file or text that you send where you choose. Whoever you send it to receives that copy.
This website
nightings.com has no ads, analytics or tracking cookies. The sample planner runs in your browser and doesn’t store your choices. If you email us for a beta invite, we use your address to reply and to add you as a tester in Apple’s TestFlight, which sends the invite.
Deleting your data and changing your mind
- In the app, open Profile and tap Delete all Nightings data. This removes the app’s records, recovery copies and temporary exports on your iPhone. Deleting the app also removes them.
- Deleting data doesn’t remove copies you already shared, or entries written to Apple Health. Manage those in the Health app.
- Cloud reading asks for your approval each time. To stop, just don’t approve it. On-device reading and typing shifts in always work.
- To stop Health access, turn it off in Nightings or in iPhone Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices.
- Deleting app data doesn’t cancel a subscription. Cancel in iPhone Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.
For adults
Nightings is sleep planning and education for adults. It isn’t meant for children.
